Precision Navigation and Positioning
Mapping & Hydrographic Surveys Pty Ltd. provides precise navigation for all positioning requirements.
Key Benefits
- Real Time Differential Global Positioning Systems with an update rates up to 25 times per second;
- Dedicated navigation software providing survey design, on line navigation control and data logging of complete raw data sets;
- Real time on screen quality control and assurance;
- Experienced staff.
Capabilities
MHS adopts the latest GPS technologies to provide precise navigational data to clients. Company positioning systems can utilise:
- Free to air radiobeacon differential signals;
- Company differential base stations and VHF telemetry; or
- Commercial wide area solution differential corrections.
Capability 1
MHS uses dual-channel, automatic beacon receivers for tracking broadcasts, such as AMSA, conforming to the IALA Standard. The suitable radiobeacons in the work area are located and the closest beacon used. The receiver then continuously monitors the integrity of the data received from the differential radiobeacon(s). If excessive errors in the data stream are detected, the receiver automatically switches to a different radiobeacon, if available.
Capability 2
MHS differential base stations, utilising VHF telemetry are used in remote areas or in specific cases. Differential corrections are then be transmitted from the base station to the rover unit every second.
Capability 3
MHS is licensed to use Commercial Wide Area Solution differential corrections based on commercially operated base stations or satellites removing the need for dedicated onsite base stations. The differential corrections are constantly updated as the receiver moves around.
