Capabilities

MHS utilise the latest technology in positioning and sounders to produce quality maps and charts of the designated survey area. The sensors are calibrated to known values and interfaced to dedicated onboard computers via MHS developed software Janus. MHS is capable of regular charting surveys for major ports, investigation surveys for new port developments and channels, dredging surveys, and scientific mapping.

Capability 1: Regular charting surveys for major ports to ensure shipping safety, including survey support for any associated dredging operations. This includes the initial pre dredge survey, progress surveys, and post dredge clearance surveys.
Capability 2: Investigations for new navigation channels and remote area port developments. Hydrographic investigations include establishment of horizontal and vertical datum's, bathymetry, side scan sonar, seismic reflection profiling, current and tidal studies, and seabed sampling.
Capability 3: Scientific mapping of specific areas of scientific and/or environmental interest. Including bathymetry across reef areas and weather edges, air photo control and the production of composite map sheets of the Great Barrier Reef.
